To keep our membership costs at a reasonable rate, we ask that our members that can, participate in our "Trails and Claims Days". These will be organized maintenance days on the claims. While we have the mineral rights to these placer gold claims, they are still PUBLIC LAND!!! Meaning the garbage and destruction some leave behind can make things a real mess!!! As Pacific Northwest Gold Prospectors gold club members, our goal is to be STEWARDS of the land, and give back when we can. We hope that with enough help we can make short work of things and enjoy the riches our claims have to offer in the afternoon, with possibly a pot luck dinner afterwards, where we (PNWGP) will supply the meats...
We know that going camping on certain Holidays can be an outright CLUSTER!!! Our plan is to have gold club group events during these weekends that the entire family can ENJOY!!! Our claims offer some very nice placer gold, slow moving areas the kids can enjoy swimming, and Mama can sit and relax while reading a book at the rivers edge. Or better yet, they all grab a shovel and become gold prospectors... Either way, EVERYONE IS WELCOME to these events, whether you are a paid member or not.
There are times gold clubs like ours get asked to help clean rivers of lead and other harmful debris. We hope that our gold prospectors exercise their stewardship and help out when these times occur. This is a great way for the mining community to gain good graces from those that think we are here just raping the land!!! After our Civil engineer sees the trails on the Big Hope we've constructed, I'm sure we may have some trailhead construction jobs in our future... It's not always about the placer gold.
To which I look forward too!!!
